TRIPLE i Virtual Conference 2021

We are pleased to invite you to the Triple i Virtual Conference, a collaborative event brought to you by Slovene Centre for Suicide Research, De Leo Fund Onlus and the International Association for Suicide Prevention. The conference will take place from 25 to 27 May 2021 in the online environment Zoom.

TRIPLE i is an international annual conference organised by the Slovene Centre for Suicide Research (Andrej Marušič Institute, University of Primorska, Slovenia) in memory of the late Prof. Andrej Marušič (around the time of his birthday) with the aim of promoting intuition, imagination and innovation in research and prevention of suicide and suicidal behaviour.

Due to the epidemiological situation related to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we will be holding a virtual TRIPLE i conference again this year. Even in this difficult situation we wanted to offer opportunities for interaction and fruitful discussions between distinguished suicidologists and perspective young participants. For this reason, researchers from different institutions have connected to prepare a TRIPLE i Virtual Conference.

The programme includes topics of suicide research and clinical work with suicidal patients. Thus, we will address theory, research, prevention, and interventions in suicidology. Each lecture will be followed by a discussion in which the participants will be invited to share their views. Existing difficulties in both research and clinical work will be specifically addressed.

Students, professionals, scholars, practitioners or others interested in the topic of suicidal behaviours are invited to join us in a slightly different conference format, but with equally important and interesting lectures. Let the virtual TRIPLE i be the opportunity to express and practice your intuition, imagination and innovative ideas.

Where is the event happening?

The conference will be held in the Zoom online environment.

Registered participants will receive detailed instructions for participation via e-mail before the start of the conference.

When is the event happening?

The TRIPLE i Virtual Conference: 25 – 27 May 2021

The dates of the annual conference are in late spring – around the time of late Prof. Andrej Marušič’s birthday.

What is the programme like?

The conference programme is adapted to the online format of the conference.

A three-day conference will consist of two sessions per day with each approximately 120 minutes long. Each session will include two lectures. In the first session of the day, the first lecture will be held at 9 a.m. UTC+2 and the second at 10 am UTC+2. In the second session, the first lecture will start at 2 pm UTC+2, while second at 3 pm UTC+2. All sessions will include enough time for discussions between presenters and the audience.

Different topics regarding research and prevention in suicidology will be addressed by distinguished international experts in the field of suicide research and prevention.

At the moment confirmed speakers are Prof. Rory O’Connor, Prof. Jo Robinson, Prof. Lai Fong Chan, Prof. Annette Erlangsen, Prof. Murad Khan, Dr. Silvia Pelàez, Prof. Thomas Niederkrotenthaler, Prof. Maurizio Pompili, Prof. Vita Poštuvan, Prof. Diego De Leo, Ms. Meta Lavrič, Ms. Nina Krohne and Ms. Vanja Gomboc.

Professionals, students, scholars and practitioners from all over the world who are interested in the topic of suicidal behaviours are invited to join the conference.

All registered participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

What about the fee?

The participant registration fees are set according to the 4 zones (as per world bank development indicators). Your country zone is listed here.

Student Registered Student – All Zones	US$40.00
Zones 3 and 4 Residents of Zones 3 and 4 attend free of charge

Registered attendees will have access to all sessions on-demand post the virtual conference.

How to pay?

After online registration, you will be required to pay the conference fee. More information regarding the payment method is available here.

Your registration is valid only if you pay the fee by the requested time.

Cancellation policy

Between April 18th 2021 and before May 24th 2021 – 50% refund of the registration fee applies.
Cancellations after May 24th will not receive a refund.
On or after May 24th 2021, cancellations of registration and subsequent refunds will only be possible under exceptional circumstances.
