4nara

Čuječnost krepimo tedaj, ko smo sposobni pogledati vase in zaupati v smiselnost vsega, kar doživljamo.

Negovanje zaupanja s pogledom vase

Poskusite

Mindfulness is trust

As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.

(Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)

Basic confidence in yourself and in your emotions is an important part of the meditation practice. It is important to accept ourselves fully, which includes both, the positive aspects of our experience as well as the negative ones, even though people are inclined to generally prefer to avoid the latter. Mindfulness is cultivated, when we are able to look into ourselves and trust in meaningfulness of everything that we are experiencing.

Cultivating trust by looking into yourself

The feeling state of trust is important to cultivate in mindfulness practice, for if we do not trust in our ability to observe, to be open and attentive, to reflect upon experience, to grow and learn from observing and attending, to know something deeply, we will hardly persevere in cultivating any of these abilities, and so they will only wither or lie dormant. Part of mindfulness practice is to cultivate a trusting heart. Let’s begin by looking deeply into what we can trust in ourselves. If we don’t immediately know what there is to trust in ourselves, maybe we need to look a little deeper, to dwell a little longer with ourselves in stillness and in simply being.

(Jon Kabat-Zinn: Wherever You Go There You Are)

Try it

During the day pay attention to how you are doing some quite everyday things, e.g.: how you walk, how you get dressed, brush your teeth, comb, speak, how you eat and drink.

Notice that your body just knows itself what to do. Without thinking about it specifically, the legs themselves know how to move, so you can walk; the hands know what to do, so you can brush your teeth or comb your hair; the mouth know what to do, so you can talk, eat and drink.

Raising awareness of these activities is strengthening your self-confidence.
