Triple i 2018 – Ella Arensman

Mednarodno priznani predavatelji spregovorijo o raziskovanju, intervencijah in postvenciji ob samomoru. Prijetno vzdušje in aktualne teme dajejo možnost, da se udeleženci povežejo, kar odpira možnosti napredovanja stroke.

She has published over 140 papers in peer review journals as well as reports for government departments and policy makers. At the Triple i 2018 conference she will implement a gatekeeper awareness and skills training relating to depression and suicidal behaviour, which will be co-sponsored by the International Association for Suicide Prevention.

Prof. Arensman’s message to young researchers, professionals, students:

Considering the wide ranging factors associated with suicide and self-harm, I would encourage early career researchers to establish links with interdisciplinary research teams, both nationally and internationally. At the same time, it would be important to be guided by your interest in certain research topics. Being motivated and inspired to work in a certain research area, makes it easier to overcome any challenges, such as reduced resources, dealing with competitive funding programmes, and ongoing changes at policy level. If you believe in the integrity of your research, it will be possible to make a difference. It is always inspiring and encouraging to work with colleagues in different settings and to build collaborative links internationally, and it is helpful to have access to mentors. However, I think it is important to develop your own vision, yet remain open to keep updating this over time.
